Important Patient Information

.

You will need a referral from your doctor in order to attend the clinic and this is very easy to do. Ask your GP for a referral which specifically states that you have a diagnosis of chronic pain, and scan and email that to us prior to requesting an appointment. Ensure that you bring the original document with you for your first appointment. (Please note that there is no Medicare or private health fund rebate at this time, because this treatment method is too new to be covered by the relevant legislation.)

.

The referral should be addressed to:

.

Christine Sutherland
Lifeworks Pain Clinic
office@lifeworks-group.com.au

.

To request your appointment, use the “Appointments” menu item above. There you will find a form to request an appointment, as well as a map of the clinic location.

.

Below you will find a FAQ sheet which might answer some of your questions, and a copy of our paper on an important trial of our treatment method. There is also a pain diagram which you might like to annotate with the help of your doctor, or you may prefer to wait to do that with us.

.

At your first visit we will take a thorough history, and go over your pain diagram in great detail so that we get as accurate an understanding as possible of exactly how each pain feels, and how your pain “behaves”. We need to know and understand your precise perception of your pain, because that is the key to being able to reduce it, and even switch it off, permanently.
